Games played at Stockton University, Atlantic Cape Community College and local high schools within a 30 mile radius of Atlantic City.
INPLAYS SPORTS NATIONALS are a week-long event…ALL TEAMS must be available to play from 8am thru 10pm. The schedule will be issued 7-days before the start of the tournament.
InPlays Sports Corp tournaments are not stay-to-play events; Teams can pick their preferred hotel of choice. Participants are encouraged to stay in Atlantic City for convenience of travelling to games..
The DIVISIONS are based on the GRADE the player will be at the start of the upcoming school year.
Players & Teams can play UP a division. NEVER DOWN A DIVISION.
TOURNAMENT RULES:
1. Coaches MUST confirm ALL numbers in the score book prior to the start of the game. Games will not start before the scheduled time without the consent of both teams’ head coaches.
2. Two 20-minute halves for Varsity Division
Two 16-minute halves for JV Division
Clock will run continuously in 2nd half anytime the lead is over 20 points. Once under 20 points, stop time resumes.
3. Each team gets 4 timeouts per game.
Overtime – each gets 2 time outs for entire overtime(s).
Each timeout is 1-minute in length.
3-minute break at halftime.
4. On 7th foul in each half, opposing team will shoot 1 and 1.
On 10th and each additional foul, opposing team will shoot 2 free throws.
Two free throws are shot for a technical foul regardless of situation.
5. Games must start ON TIME. Teams that are late are assessed a TECHNICAL with opposing team shooting 2 free throws and having the possession at start of game.
At 11-minutes the game is forfeited. Additional time will be allotted if a team is coming from another game at a separate facility.
6. Any coach or player receiving two technical fouls will be ejected from the game and suspended for the next game (no exceptions).
Further disciplinary action will be determined by the tournament director.
Unacceptable behavior may result in team/organization/coach/player/parent being banned from future tournaments.
7. Overtime will be 2 minutes with stop time.
8. Players will be disqualified once they have committed their 6th foul.
9. 10-second back court violation.
10. Regulation 29.5 ball used at all divisions.
11. When determining the teams who advance to playoffs: In a two team tie, if the teams have played each other, head to head is used. If they have not played each other, tie breaker goes to point differential (if also tied in point differential, then points allowed and then points scored). In the case of a three team tie, point differential is used then standard tie breaker rules apply. In the case of a tie determining playoff advancement when only one team has a forfeit victory, point differentials against common opponent(s) will be used to settle the tie.
12. Players are only allowed to play on one team within an age division; a player may also play on one additional team as long it is ABOVE their age group and WITHIN their program. A player CANNOT play on more than one team in any one age group.
13. If a team forfeits a game, they CANNOT play in playoffs.
14. Formal protests must be done immediately – telephone number will be provided to each coach prior to tournament.
15. Teams are allowed 2 coaches on the bench. THE HEAD COACH will be given 2 coach wristbands and are required to wear them in order to enter the gyms, see ticket person at each site for coach’s badges.
InPlays Sports provides clock, scoreboard and scorebook personnel for each game. Coaches and/or parents ARE NOT required to handle clock, scoreboard and scorebook.
16. In all other situations, National High School rules will be applied.
17. In the situation of a physical altercation, any player who leaves the bench to participate will be ejected and suspended for the following game and faces being eliminated from the tournament.
If a team does not have enough players to continue or play future games due to ejections and suspensions, the team will forfeit game(s).
If a player initiates a physical altercation, the player will be not be allowed to play any further games and will not be allowed to enter a facility in which games are played.
In a scenario where a team with multiple players engage in a physical altercation, the team can be eliminated from the tournament and future tournaments.
Games are video recorded, as such, games may be halted so videos will be reviewed to determine suspensions, ejections, technical fouls and forfeits.
18. Site Tournament Director will have final discretion in all rulings.
